I tried to narrow down my choice to a few then searched around for the best price for that hotel. I ended up going through a travel agent who I highly recommend I found on a discussion group page. I wanted to change my itinerary a couple of times and he was more than Thailand travel agency accomodating, often doing the work in the middle of the night his time so that I would have a new itinerary when I checked my email the next day. Best of all, he got incredible Thailand travel agency deals on hotels, and I ended up getting a room in phuket for about 25% less than the "Internet discount" on the hotel website.
